Event Details
Come Out to the Annual ACTA Charity Doubles Tennis Tournament and Support Your Community and Local Non-Profits!
The tournament will be held Memorial Day weekend, May 29th and 30th. All participants will receive a t-shirt, a bag of goodies, and a chance to win some great prizes donated by the Legg Mason Tennis Classic the Washington Kastles and other local Arlington sponsors.
The registration fee is a minimum donation of $30 per person to any one of the three charities listed below. All of the registration fees will go directly from ACTA to the charities. If you pay for yourself and your partner, the cost is a minimum of a $60 donation to one of the charities of your choice. The registration deadline is May 24th, 2010
There will be 6 divisions:
-Men's 8.0 and above
-Men's 7.5 and below
-Women's 8.0 and above
-Women's 7.5 and below
-Mixed 8.0 and above
-Mixed 7.5 and below
You can only register for one bracket!
Match Format:
8 game pro-set, regular scoring (including add). First to 8 games, win by 2 (you can win 9-7). If tied at 8-8 play, please play a regular tie breaker (first to 7 points, win by 2 points). The finals will be full-set matches (best of 3 sets).
The charities we will be supporting are:
1) Doorways for Women and Families (http://www.doorwaysva.org/)
2) Arlington Food Assistance Center (http://www.afacinfo.org/index.html)
3) Arlington Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless (http://www.aachhomeless.org/)
Date: May 29th and 30th (in the case of inclement weather, the tournament dates will be pushed to May 30th and 31th)
Location: Arlington tennis courts. Specific court locations will be finalized after registration
If you don't have a partner but still want to play, you may still register and we will pair you up with another partner given that there are available single registrants. The registration fee for single players is a minimum of $30 donation. If we do not find a player match for you we can refund your money, otherwise your registration is non-refundable.
